What do I do to get away/get rid of a funky mood...

For me, i'm a pretty chill person. But like anyone, I can definitely have my off-days. What I like to do to get rid of those annoying feelings is spend more time with family. Like they say "friends will come and go, but family is there forever", is very true. Because they can turn my frown upside down, literally. Family's always there and you'll be always be apart of them whether you'd want them to or not. Something else I do to get rid of a weird feeling is to use the yoga techniques we learned to just breathe. Especially since I have asthma this works for me substantially. It helps me to relax and to think clear so I don't get very flustered. It's also beneficial for health, because it opens up your airways. I find that this yoga class has clearly made an impact in the way I think about things whether it's on the mat or real life situations.

Day 11 - CGCC

1.) At CGCC, I noticed their campus looked very new. That they had futuristic looking buildings. But a very big and spread out campus. I really liked their campus how new everything was. How their buildings were designed by famous architects or artists. But what i was really interested was how big the library there was. The rooms they had specifically for studying.

2.) I remember the tour guy, his name was Jose. There's another girl named Ashley. There's a Sammy, Chris, Bianca, Shenton, Elliot, Neal, Nizhoni(i don't know how to spell her name), and i don't remember the rest. I think we all got to get to know their personalities better when we played games with them. I thought the one i found interesting was Ashley and Nizhoni. Ashley was because she's the first one i remembered because our Ashley pointed her out. Nizhoni, because her name just stuck out. It's very pretty.

3.) Yes, i enjoyed myself at CGCC. I'd like to go back and visit them again if we can. Or them come visit us.

Day 10 - Yoga

After yoga, i feel very relaxed. As if all the frustrations and concerns of mine goes away and helps me think clearly. My breathing feels more open and i feel very balanced and in a better mood. During class, it's kind of hard to get into the calming mood of yoga. Because you just came back from class and an environment where relaxation isn't the top priority. So getting my mind relaxed is the biggest challenge for me. I enjoy the class very much because the different positions help "tame" the mind from all the stress and helps calm everything down.

Day 4 - Expectations

Weekend

This weekend began on Friday. Technically on Thursday at 4. But, I woke up at 8 that morning thinking i was late. Trying to figure out how to get to class, which would have already began. Then realizing that Ashley didn't text me wondering where i was hinted to me that i didn't have school. So, to sum that morning up, I felt So Happy!!! On Friday, that was errand day. Me, my mom and sisters went to Wal-Mart which felt like the whole day. Then they rented redbox. Nothing else that day. On Saturday, I woke up thinking it was Sunday.. Waking up to a text from my mom saying for me to watch my niece because everyone left to go see a $5 movie at AMC. So naturally my first thought is disappointment of thinking i woke up late. Then when i later thought about it, i realized i have the whole house to myself, well until my niece wakes up. BUT! It wasn't as exciting as i wanted to make it. i was pretty bored. There was nothing interesting to watch on t.v OR Netflix.
And the redbox movies were all scratched.... Then now i'm here, today.

On the Telly

My favorite show would have to be Vampire Diaries!! My boyfriend got me interested in it because i had nothing else better to do with my life every time i came home from school.. I haven't been keeping up though because my dad doesn't like me watching it because he said it's like a Soap Opera or something like that. -__-
I think if anything, my favorite show since a couple weeks ago would have to be Duck Dynasty. IT'S FREAKING HILARIOUS.

Projects

For my project, I'll be doing "Go my son".

Day 3 - Who? What? Where? Why? How?

Class Time

1.) I have Communications (Com100) and Yoga

2.) The assignment i have been assigned is to write a paragraph(7-9 lines) about a professional, persuasive, or influential conversation i have had with someone. I have not yet completed it because i need to get a password for my Gateway ID.

3.) I am excited about my classes because in communications, I'll develop the skills to better involve myself in a conversation. Or to speak in public and getting my point across without hesitation because i would learn to understand my weaknesses of public speaking and deal with them.

Hoop Building

1.) There are 16 people in the Hoop program.
2.) Tristin Martin
     Valeri Ann
     Melissa Charley
     Anna Wise
     Michelle Youyetewa
     Tashieka
     Renee Tsosie

Day 2 - Getting Acclimated

Reading

Nic Sheff, the author of the novel Tweak, had grown up in a struggling life. The first time he had gotten drunk was at the age of eleven. Which led to smoking pot regularly, then to cocaine and Ecstacy, and later became addicted to Crystal Meth. In the story Tweak, he tells of the story of his addiction, relapse and recovery from drugs.

Yoga

1. Relaxation

2. Strength

3. Flexibility

4. Posture

5. Breathing

I Feel taking yoga will be worth it further in life for us. When we begin working and need a way to relieve stress and to relax, then this will be very beneficial! So I would like to learn different yoga positions to feel a release of negative energy from the long days.

Hoop Building

Best impression would have to be with Raoul, because I told him to do an Obama one. It was Hilarious!!!!!!

Best singer was Anna! Her voice sounded pretty good even though she was messing around!!

Even though she wasn't my partner, she had the best line, Valeri!

Ashley had the most interesting question : "Have you ever pooped in your pants before?" I find it interesting because it was RANDOM. I wonder what runs through her head on a day to day basis... Hmm.... And she wasn't my partner so I didn't have an answer.

Graduation Project

I enjoy socializing and having fun!!!

Day 1 - Introductions

Tweak

Prestigious- inspiring respect and admiration; having high status.
IncoherentUnable to speak intelligibly.
SemblanceThe outward appearance or apparent form of something
OminousGiving the impression that something bad or unpleasant is going to happen.
SeldomNot often; rarely.
Insatiable- Impossible to satisfy: "an insatiable hunger".

In the novel "Tweak" by Nic Sheff, I found just by the first chapter that his story of thinking drugs are fine starts at a young age. Basically, one drug led to another, then his whole life began to go down hill. When he was being involved with drugs and alcohol. His family life wasn't the same, so he went to rehab. Later down the road when the love of his life didn't want him, he relapsed into drugs again. But this time it was the abuse of Meth.

Hoop of Learning - Day 1

1.) I learned on the first day of the Hoop program that Chenoa, and Tanyka are both Ashley's neices. Raul, Brittney, Aaliyah, and i are the only students in the program from last summer hoop program.

2.) I liked the diversity in the hoop group this year. There are people from different hoop programs that chose ours!

3.) I wish everyone would have been more open and social. But then again, it was the first day!
